Lying in Lhunzhub County, Lhasa, the lamasery was built in 1435 and set up its institute in 2003. Sixteen lamas from various monasteries in Tibet came here for eight-year study of Tibetan culture including Tibetan medicines, Tibetan Buddhism, astronomy and calendar, as well as Sanskrit.
